What are your stories & beliefs about alcohol?

Updated: May 29, 2021

One of the best steps for you to do to change your relationship with alcohol is to think alcohol is neutral.

The stories you have about it are created over time.

The stories about alcohol get more romanticized by your thoughts.

What if you tried an approach of thinking that alcohol is just a liquid in a glass with no human qualities? It's made up of one oxygen, two carbon and six hydrogen atoms.

Thinking of it in that way takes all the romance out of it, right?

It can't convince you to pour it in a glass... your thoughts do that.

It can't convince you to pick up the glass and drink it... your thoughts do that.

Every decision you make comes from you... even if someone is pressuring you to have just one. Ultimately, there is a thought that you make that makes the final decision to drink.

Before your next drink pause for 30 seconds and examine your romantic story about alcohol.

Create awareness about what you think.

Take it to the next level to and write down your thoughts so you engage your brain.

Putting pen to paper takes changing your relationship with alcohol to the next level. You begin to get a bird's eye view of what is going on in your mind.

Awareness is the first step toward change.
