Urges are thoughts that we have. Remember that THOUGHTS create our FEELINGS, our FEELINGS create our ACTIONS, our ACTIONS give us our RESULTS.
I want all of you reading this to literally sit down with pen and paper and write down all of the thoughts that you have to prevent an urge to have a drink.
This is a powerful exercise for everyone to do. It'll only take you 10 minutes, if that.
Here is my list:
No hangovers
No alcohol induces headaches
No alcohol sugary fowl breath
I can always drive
No blackouts! Amen to this one!!
Remember the great sex I had the night before
Sleep well
No passing out on the couch
No dehydration
No cramps in legs from dehydration
More productivity both in my personal life and business
Never tell a story twice because I can't remember telling it the first time
No more hearing my family say, "I know mom, you already told me that last night"
No more embarrassing my husband
No more embarrassing my kids
No more wondering what happened the night before
No more looking for cues from my husband if he's mad at me because of my drunk behavior
My kids will never have to smell alcohol on me
No more finding empty bottles that will shock me when I see them laying around from the night before
Managing my negative thoughts
Longevity
No more slurring
No more worry about drinking calories
No more foggy brain
No DUI
I'm ready for an emergency
Reading before bedtime
No more drunk fights
No more hurt words to friends
No more smoking cigarettes
Can follow a conversation
Not hearing my kids say, "It's because you were drinking"
No more bad food choices the next day to feel better and fill the hole inside of me
No more late night buzzed snacking
Never have to go to rehab
Set a great example for my kids
I'll be present with myself and live in my truth
No more puffy eyes
No more bloated tummy
I'll never regret not drinking!
